A very attractive edimental (edible and ornamental) with dark burgundy leaves and pretty pink mallow flowers. As well as being attractive, the young leaves can be used as tea or added to salads for lemony zest. The leaves are high in antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties.
Leaves can be used as a natural dye.
The plant is very pollinator friendly.

Growing: Sow seeds in early spring. A heat mat will aid germination or place in a warm spot. In areas with warmer winters they can be perennial, but are usually treated as an annual. They do self seed if left to dry naturally.
