A charming wildflower annual from California. Dainty violet blue, dense, rounded globe shaped clusters, low growing, 40-60cm and flowering from late winter to early summer, just as we need a mood lifter from the winter gloom. The foliage is delicate and ferny too. What a lovely surprise the second season finding them self sown in my pots and at the front of the borders. Much loved by the bees and pollinators too, they are such a joy and are great pot fillers.

Hardy, full-sun plants coping well in drier weather and need little attention.

Sowing: Sow seeds directly when soil temps are above 20C.

Seed can be sown in Spring, Summer and Autumn. Cover lightly, 2mm, as they need light to germinate.

Growing: Annual plants reaching a height of 40cm. They prefer a sunny location, well draining soil and are drought tolerant.

Sowing: Direct sow in late winter to early spring. Surface sow and gently press into the soil. Needs light for germination, keep soil damp till they've sprouted.
