A first in South Africa! Original F1 Sungold tomatoes! The world's favourite and most popular cherry tomato with a brix rating of 9.3-9.5! That means the sugar level is super high...2X sweeter than any other sweet cherry tomato.

F1 tomatoes are hybrids and not stabilised. Sungold is a secret cross, it is not GMO! Yes you can save seeds, but the flavour will not be as good and you may end up with red cherries or something else entirely. Therefore original seeds are sown every season to guarantee these tasty morsels.

Incredibly productive sprawling plants, Sungold bounty is found in every harvest basket all season long. They make a fantastic sweet chilli tomato jam too.

Being F1 they are not cheap so to circumvent this, I sow 2 seeds per season and then take cuttings when the plant is big enough, root them in water and share with family and friends who are all begging for their Sungold fix!

A tomato farmer came to visit me for the first time and her tiny toddler immediately recognised my Sungold tomato tunnel and made a beeline to stand there and snack. That is how good they are. Children and adults alike can't resist them. It is the only tomato I snack on in the garden! Fruity, juicy, delectable sweetness with zero acidity!

Sowing: Sow in trays, cover with 2mm of soil. Place in a warm area. Tomatoes prefer 21-29C soil temperatures to germinate.

Growing: Vigorous, needs staking, grows well on a trellis or tunnel
