Sister tomato to True Colours, both from a cross between Ludmilla's Pink Heart and Captain Lucky, by breeder Karen Olivier. So hard to choose between these two favourites. Don't ask me to. I love them equally. How can you not love huge tri color hearts with tri colour flesh with such intense flavours. If I want to show off my tomatoes, these two are the varieties I show.

Taiga is slighlty less sweet than True Colours, but fresher, more yellow insode with the same red slash inside. Whereas True Colours is all sweetness like a tropicla fruit, Taiga tones it down a little with more complex, deep savoury notes balancing the sweetness. Rich and full of flavour, the fruits crop abundantly a little later than True Colours, from early/ mid summer right to the end of season, not minding the cooling weather. I will always grow both, loving the slight succession cropping and enjoying the flavours of both for the entire summer.

Growing: Indeterminate, tall, needs staking.

Flavour: Sweet balanced with deep savoury, rich, complex notes.
